School Groups and Bookings

We offer tours which can be booked by teachers and other community groups. These tours highlight the museum exhibits and displays to give visitors a unique approach to learning. Explore a variety of marine subjects including the Halifax Harbour Explosion, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Golden Age of Sail, Communications at Sea and Titanic.

Guided Tours

A guided visit is a good option for groups who are interested in a more engaged Museum experience and wish to learn about 2-3 topics in greater depth. Groups who wish to explore the Museum at their own pace are encouraged to book a self-guided visit. Guided tours are subject to availability and have an additional cost.

Self-Guided Visit with Scavenger Hunt

Some school groups may choose to book a self guided tour and use one of our scavenger hunts as a means of introducing their students to the museum's collections. The scavenger hunts are designed for specific grades and can be emailed in advance for the teacher's review. We also provide an answer key. When these groups arrive, museum staff provide a brief overview of the museum galleries and rules before distributing the scavenger hunts.

Please Note: Indoor Snack/Lunch Area- Not available

If you wish to eat outdoors, there are picnic tables in our courtyard and benches on the museum wharves and Scotia Square Mall and Historic Properties are both within an easy walk from the museum.
